In the Academy
- Worked teaching (in Japanese) as Professor of the History of Christianity, Japan Lutheran College and Seminary
- Founded, and am currently Director of Studies, at the Societas Lascasiana (Bartolomé de las Casas Society
- Founded the Bach Research Society as part of the Japan Luther Research Society.
- Written extensively on Bach in Japan.
